2024 RailKing One Gauge G Scale Flat Car with Pipe Loads Announced

January 30, 2024 - M.T.H. Electric Trains will be releasing the 2024 RailKing One Gauge G Scale Flat Car with Pipe Loads in six different liveries next Spring. Each of these offerings will be available in two car numbers in limited quantities and is expected to begin shipping to M.T.H. Authorized Retailers in July 2024.

PROTOTYPE HISTORY

The type of flat car used to transport pipes depends on the size and weight of the pipes. For small-diameter pipes, a standard flat car may be used. For larger pipes, a specialized pipe car may be used. Pipe cars have features such as cradles or bunks to support the pipes and prevent them from rolling, and tie-down chains or straps to secure the load.
